If you are experiencing frightening or unexplainable phenomena at home or at work then the Paranormal Devon Undiscovered team may be able to help you to find out why the activity is happening or to help capture evidence that strange things are actually occurring and you are not imagining it all. Before contacting us please take the time to read the following paragraphs. We do not and will not do house exorcisms.
We are a voluntary group so all of our services are free. However, we are limited on how far we can travel so may not be able to travel outside the Southwest area of the UK without charging a small fee and/or being provided accommodation.
Every investigation is dealt with the utmost respect at all times and we will maintain confidentiality if requested for example no video footage will be shown on our websites if you do not wish to permit this.
Your property will always be respected at all times and we will explain everything that we will be planning to do and will ask for permission at all times first before carrying out any task.
If you are looking for definite answers then you may be disappointed as often there are none and more questions are raised than answered. Do you expect to get information that can provide absolute proof of the paranormal, eg verifiable names and dates from the spirit world that nobody could have known. This is one of our aims but unfortunately this does not often happen. We have two experienced psychic's in the team but other team mates are developing their psychic abilities and like the opportunity to put forth their impressions. Please do not be disappointed if the information they pass on is not what you are expecting
If you think the whole experience would make an entertaining evening then please bear in mind that investigations can actually be quite boring and not like those portrayed on TV. We are a serious research team and our time is precious. Therefore, when we come to investigate we expect to be allowed to do just that as boring as it may seem. Family members, staff etc are welcome to join us for the duration of the investigation but we ask that you limit the numbers attending. Three or less is best and makes it so much easier for the mediums and the rest of the team to work.
If you believe your home to be haunted and evidence is found to support your claim then how would you really feel? Imagine still having to live there after the investigators have gone. Remember not all 'spirits' are pleasant. Would you be comfortable knowing that you share your home with a 'ghost', friendly or otherwise?
Would you really want to know if your home had been the site of traumatic events in the past such as a murder or suicide? This is something we have come across before.
Do you think that by having experienced investigators present that paranormal activity will be more likely during their visit? The paranormal is an erratic and unpredictable phenomenon. We cannot guarantee any activity will happen during our visit.
We do not investigate every location that we have been requested to. This is due to time constraints and sometimes due to the unsuitability of the venue for investigation. Once contacted, we will arrange for one or more team member to visit the property to speak to the owner and perhaps other eye witnesses. We also ensure that the building is safe. We may record our conversations at this time for the final report.
After discussion and examination of the alleged haunted areas a date for investigation may be arranged. Contact details will be provided in case more information is required later. The owner will be asked to sign a consent form indicating whether or not details of the following investigation can be included on the Paranormal Devon Undiscovered website. Confidentiality will be maintained if requested.
The investigation can take place at any time of day or night. Night times are favourable because firstly it is quieter overnight with less traffic and everyday noise. Secondly, if we are asked to investigate business premises then this is the most convenient time so as not to disrupt business.
Our first task is to set up an area as team base. We begin with a tour of the property inside and out if convenient. Baseline recordings will be taken, eg temperature.
Various experiments may be set up in order to capture movement, sound or other evidence. The experiment areas will be continually monitored and may be out of bounds for the duration of the experiment.
Usually the team will split into smaller groups to cover as many areas as possible and vigils will be conducted. These vigils may involve "calling out" in an attempt to illicit a response, sitting quietly, filming on video, taking photos, sound recording, spirit communication methods, and psychic impressions being noted.
Investigations can be of only a couple of hours' duration but may last the whole night depending on the size of the property. Ideally, an investigation is not a one-off event and may run over several separate dates. A single investigation can only give a snapshot of what may be happening at a location (some nights may be more active than others).
We may set up experiments overnight when the building is empty and watch remotely or return in the morning to collect equipment. We do not necessarily have to be present to 'investigate.'
There may be only 2 investigators present or as many as 15 depending on the size of the property and the number of people required to set up experiments.
The investigative team present will always include 2 or more from the Paranormal Devon Undiscovereds core team. Other trainee investigators may be called upon to help from time to time.
We offer all the owner of each location investigated a free written report plus copies of any interesting footage. Investigation is a time consuming process. Remember - the recordings from several different devices have to be reviewed which takes much longer than the investigation itself. Since the team members do this in their very limited spare time then a report may take 6 weeks or longer to be compiled.
The report may be posted, emailed or delivered in person. We would appreciate feedback from you about the report itself and about the team in general
Please note that we provide this service free of charge under a voluntary basis and this is not our occupation. Paranormal Devon Undiscovered is not a business but a voluntary organisation founded by the team members themselves.
We will not be held responsible for any dissatisfaction in relation to the team or the investigation. We do the best we can in good faith but this may not be up to all people's expectations. We will, however, treat you and your property with respect and expect the same in return. We are passionate about what we do but our families and work commitments are always our priority. However, we will always do our best to carry out a satisfactory investigation or to offer advice or to help when we can. We cannot guarantee to be available on request.
Please be aware that we will not be held liable for any apparent distress, illness or injury as an alleged result of our investigation or for any claims that paranormal activity has worsened due to our visit.
We cannot offer any guarantees, namely that activity will happen, that proof will be found or that premises will be successfully cleared of 'spirits' or paranormal occurrences. We are not obliged to do anything for anyone and we reserve the right to refuse to do anything we are not comfortable with. If you have requested an investigtation and/or help and we have turned you down then please accept our decision. Abusive or hoax emails, phone calls and/or messages will not be tolerated as they are a waste of our valued time.
If you are happy with the above statements and wish to request the team to visit you, please use the form above or give us a call on the mobile phone numbers listed at the top of this screen.
